1981
The shoes we wore in 1981. I remember Cherokee were very popular, especially the ones with the rubber 3 inch heels. As you can see in the picture above, it was quite common to wear socks with your sandals.

You'd Think That I Would Learn
Well, you'd think that I would have learned from my previous experience. I told my wife that she was looking a bit too girlish. I didn't stop. But, then she threatened me that I'd have to go with her shopping... in her shoes. My chin dropped to the floor. Of course, she had to tell me that I would be wearing the shoes that she had worn all day long working as a waitress. Now that was an experience. Hmm, ... how can I get her to make me work for her as a waitress? Of course, it would have to be in those shoes again!

Warning
Please accept my warning. I made the mistake of complaining about how long it was taking for my wife to walk with me in these sandals. Boy, she was mad. So, she handcuffed my hands behind my back, slipped some pantyhose on me and put these sandals on my feet. Then, she made me go on a moonlight walk with her. Wouldn't you know, she would wear tennis shoes like I wear. Then, she had the gall to complain about how long it was taking me to walk with her. Now, I understand. The only problem I have now is trying to decide how long I need to wait to complain again. That was a WONDERFUL walk!

Wedding Day Sandals
You'll need to picture this... it is 30 minutes until the wedding ceremony starts. The wedding is all ready and one of the bridesmaids can't make it. But, that bridesmaid is necessary. Can anyone step in for her? Only one person is available and can fit into the dress. Well, yes, I did assist in the dress fitting by putting it on as a dress dummy. The only problem is that I had to stand on a box for the fitting. I'm a bit shorter than the others. Because I'm a guy, I'll need to do some tucking and stuffing. Don't forget that last week I substituted for my wife at her job. In order for me to line up with the other brides, I'll have to wear these sandals in nylons. This is exciting! The ceremony was fantastic! The only problem was that walking in that dress, I couln't see my sandals. But, ... I could feel them. When it was over, my feet were quite sore. I was ready to take a break. The only problem was that we all had to dance. Dancing in these sandals is taking a lot of balance that I'm not accustom to. The next time I go for a walk with my wife and she is walking in these sandals, I'll know to take it easy on her. Oh well, wet again! I hope that bridesmaid doesn't want these sandals back!
Trapped In Cherokees
It's Friday and this last week was intense. I feel like I haven't sat down for a month. My wife had about the same week, but she was going to have an even busier weekend. She wanted to know if I would cover for her (dressed up as a cocktail waitress at the casino), but I didn't know if I still had it in me. However, she did mention that I would be required to dress in these sandals for the 70's reunion. Suddenly, I found the energy. A bit tucking and stuffing and I could pass in her skimpy outfit. The nylons felt so nice in those sandals. Now, I was really energized to work as many hours as needed. I agreed. Now, there is no backing out. But, then she mentioned that I could not take the sandals off since the outfit would require me to wear a very tight corset. I will be trapped in these sandals. Okay, it is time to leave. But, the car won't start. I'd better get started walking... the 10 miles... in a skimpy outfit... silky nylons... and a pair of Cherokee wedge sandals that I can't take off. I'm wet just thinking about this one.

Who's That Girl That ...
In high school, if you needed to know a girls information (age, classes, phone number, etc) and didn't know her name, you could describe the wedge sandals that she wore to me. One quick description and I know who you are talking about. The above image was a shoe that Cindy in third period history wore in the second row from the right third seat back. She always asked questions. I know because when she sat up to ask a question, those shoes stopped dangling, slid back to take the presure of her feet, ... well, lets just say that I don't remember her question.
